Day trips to Cabbage Key, Boca Grande, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel and Captiva are easily accomplished by reserving a charter by contacting any of the above boat taxi’s or fishing excursion captains.

One hundred acres of tropical vegetation surround the historic restaurant, inn and cottages. Known by many as “the bar with all the money on the walls”, Cabbage Key bar has been serving up drinks to boaters for over 60 years. With active fire places, original hardwood floors and Cypress walls, the bar and the formal dining room make up the other two dining locations. A panoramic view of Pine Island Sound is provided from the front porch of the open-air restaurant situated atop a thirty-eight foot Indian shell mound. There are no cars here, not even a paved road. You will find winding nature trails, picturesque views and relaxation.

Located on the Grand Barrier Island called Gasparilla, is a step back into “Old World” Florida, a carefully preserved part of Florida’s history and beauty. Located on the Southwest coast of Florida, midway between Ft. Myers and Sarasota, Boca Grande is a retreat for tourists and fishermen. Captiva’s shops are located mainly at the north end of Captiva Drive and on Andy Rosse Lane. Here you will discover casual fashions, antiques, pottery, hand-painted furniture, and unique gifts.

South Seas Island Resort guests enjoy the Harbourside Bar & Grill, a perfect restaurant for families or couples with a nautical feel. The Pointe, at the South Seas main pool offers Caribbean fare with a fun Tommy Bahama atmosphere. Children love the 1950’s diner, Scoops and Slices, offering wood-fired pizzas, ice- cream sodas, floats and old-fashioned malts and milkshakes as well as a self-service candy shop.

For fine dining and a gulf-front view, visitors enjoy the charming, historic Old Captiva House Restaurant, located at ‘Tween Waters Inn, 15951 Captiva Drive (Captiva Island, Florida 33924), (239) 472-5161. Open for breakfast and dinner. You’ll enjoy an exciting new menu of Florida-fresh favorites, along with the highest standard of service to be enjoyed on the islands. Bonus: talented Executive Chef Greg Nelson and his team get to perform their magic in a sparkling all-new kitchen that rivals any in Southwest Florida for state-of-the-art preparation and presentation.

Also at ‘Tween Waters Inn is the comfortable, pub-style Crows Nest Restaurant, featuring nightly dinner specials, happy hour and live music. While enjoying great food and drinks, incredible sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico and you won’t want to miss the hilarious, one-of-a-kind NASCRAB Hermit Crab Races (Monday and Thursday evenings, October through August).
